(I could be horribly wrong about this too since I believe that VBR still gives higher quality at competitive bitrates with how it works) VBR makes the frame rates vary according to the recording target however CBR constantly records in 60 FPS which only makes it good when your recording target is running at a constant 60. IF your recording target (when bandicam is recording) sits at a constant frame rate of 60 or so use CBR if not VBR since your computer cannot handle it. (Choosing either of them gives pretty much the same results) Just record in 60 FPS or higher and when you are using Sony Vegas to edit use either 59.940 (Double NTSC) or just 60. Graphic card model: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 This would seem like common use-case, but I have yet to find a consistent answer. Is editing the video in Sony Vegas without noticeable quality loss impossible, or can it be done if I improve my recording settings? However editing it in Vegas and exporting a MP4 AVC 25.999 Mbps 59.94fps video still looks OK, but not as good as the original footage. Recording a MP4 H.264 (NVIDIA NVENC) quality set to 100 with VBR and VFR, 60fps and 60 FPS cap produced a good looking video that still looks as good if I upload it directly to YouTube. Should I use AVI motion JPEG instead of MP4 even though Vegas will later convert it to MP4? Will converting it produce a quality loss or should I not worry? Should I use VBR or CBR when recording H.264? It seems I have to specify bitrate manually in Sony Vegas and if I select 26 Mbps which is higher than YouTube recommends it looks ok, but if I use 15 Mbps it looks really bad. But under "Bandicam settings for Sony Vegas" you still recommend CFR for Vegas without explaining why. Should I use VFR or CFR? You seem to recommend VFR if the video editor supports it, and my recorded VFR video opens up fine in Sony Vegas.

Should I record in 60 or 59.940fps? Since I can only set FPS limit to 60 when recording, will there be any tearing if i use 59? Vegas supports AVC (which I think is another name for H.264), 59.940fps (Double NTSC) and 25,999,360bps, and exports as an MP4. Youtube recommends MP4 H.264 variable bitrate or alternatively 12 Mbps for 60fps What are the best settings for recording 1080p 60fps gameplay to edit in Sony Vegas and later uploading to Youtube?
